Does the cause closet accept clothing donations from the general public?
At this time, The Cause Closet is not equipped to handle clothing and accessory donations from everyone. If you feel you have special items to donate that you think we would be interested in, or would like to be notified if we begin accepting donations from the general public, please shoot us an email at contact@thecausecloset.org.
are donations to the cause closet tax deductible?
Yes. The Cause Closet is an IRS recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowable by law. The IRS may require appraisals for some donations. Appraisals must be obtained by the donor at the donors expense prior to the donation. The Cause Closet™ does not provide appraisals. Determining IRS appraisal requirements, and obtaining appraisals are the sole responsibility of the donor. The Cause Closet does not provide an itemized list of donations. Always remember to to consult with a financial advisor or the IRS for additional information or when in doubt about the tax deductibility of a donation.
What Charities benefit from PURCHASES FROM The Cause CLoset ONLINE STORE?
The Cause Closet donates net proceeds from all purchases to a variety of charities. Charities are chosen by each VIP Partner and can be found listed in their VIP Collection details. All other purchases benefit several charitable organizations chosen by The Cause Closet with an emphasis on youth and children’s charities.. A current list of charities is available here.
DOES THE CAUSE CLOSET PARTNER WITH RETAILERS or clothing companies?
Yes. If you are a retailer or clothing company that would like to partner with The Cause Closet to help generate funds for good causes, please contact us at vip@thecausecloset.org.
WHAT DOES THE CAUSE CLOSET DO WITH CLOTHING, shoes, and accessories THAT DOn’t SeLL or Don’t meet QUality standards?
Reducing textile waste while helping charity is important to us. Donated items that fail to sell in a timely manner or are determined to be below quality standards will be donated to other charitable organizations that provide clothing and essentials free of charge to those in need, recycled responsibly, or otherwise disposed of at The Cause Closet’s sole discretion.
ARE DONATIONS TO THE CAUSE CLOSET RETURNABLE OR REFUNDABLE?
All donations are non-returnable. Monetary donations are non-refundable. Once received, all donations become the sole property of The Cause Closet.
